In Memoriam - His Eminence Khekoj Rinpoche
His Eminence Khekoj Rinpoche, Abbot of Dhe-Tsang Monastary passed into clear light meditation (Mahasamadhi) on 16th October 2013. One of the highest and most renowned Lamas of the Gelug sect, we were very blessed to have Lamaji reside in Australia and very happy that his final years were with the 600 years old Dhe-Tsang Monastry which he began restoring in 1993 from the very bricks of the original Monastry that was destroyed over 50 years ago. Lamaji’s support, guidance and blessings will never be forgotten by the Irani Family.
It must be our good karma that we had this special connection with Lamaji for many years.
A true spiritual Master and a Geishi Lama (highest order of medicine lama), Lamaji also graced us by being part of the 2nd International Ayurveda & Yoga Conference in Sydney 2009. He shared with all his pearls of wisdom through his translator and assistant, Acharya Dhawa Dhondup.
Khejok Rinpoche went into clear light meditation at approximately 8.30am in the morning of October 16th and for the many hours that ensued, Rinpoche’s body remained warm and supple with no sign of rigor mortis setting in. Finally on the 18th of October, with all the sangha of Dhe-Tsang Monastery in attendance doing Guru Puja prayers, Rinpoche’s consciousness left his body.
